Durham is one of the areas I work in most, partly because it's close and partly because it's full of cars that commute.
Most Durham driveways feed straight onto the A1(M) or the A690, and motorway miles leave a very particular kind of dirt — a fine film of tar, brake dust and diesel soot that bonds to the lacquer and doesn't come off in a normal wash. That's what makes a car look dull and feel gritty even a day after it's been cleaned. It needs chemical decontamination and a clay bar, not more shampoo.
I'm based in Peterlee, which puts Durham about fifteen minutes away, so there's no travel charge anywhere in the city or the villages around it.

Worth knowing in Durham
No driveway? I work around it.
A lot of Durham housing is terraced, especially around the centre, Gilesgate and Neville's Cross — street parking, no outside tap, nowhere obvious to put a van's worth of kit.
In practice this is usually solved by doing the car at your workplace instead. I do a lot of cars in car parks at the hospital, the university and the business parks off the A167 while their owners are inside working. If that isn't an option either, ring me — between a long hose, a portable supply and a neighbour's tap there's normally a way round it.

Is there a travel charge to Durham?
No. Durham is inside my free travel area, so the price you see is the price you pay, whether you're in the city centre or out towards Bowburn or Brandon.
Can you come to my work rather than my house?
Yes, and in Durham that's often easier. As long as the car is parked somewhere I can get around it and there's access to water and a socket, it makes no difference to me where it is. Plenty of my Durham cars get done in work car parks.
How far ahead do I need to book?
A valet or an interior detail is usually within the week. A full correction and coating takes a whole day, sometimes two, so those are typically two to three weeks out. If you want a coating done before winter properly sets in, book it sooner rather than later.
What if it rains on the day?
A wash or a valet I'll work through light rain without it affecting the result. A coating is different — the paint has to be bone dry and stay dry for the first hour, so if the forecast is bad I'll ring you the day before and move it. I'd rather rearrange than apply a coating badly.
